Hatley Township Project… by  Johanne Gagnon

Mission: simply redo the island… that is, until designer Johanne Gagnon’s talents were brought into play.

After purchasing this superb country home in Hatley Township, the owners contacted designer Johanne Gagnon, who had been referred to them by a former, satisfied customer.

As often happens, their discussions lead to something new. Johanne pointed out how much floor space could be gained in the kitchen by reconfiguring the cabinets, which took up a lot room. As we all know, space is everything in a kitchen. Given the funds set aside for the island makeover, there was an opportunity to give this home some real prestige.

The owners were leaning toward a traditional style, to complement their country setting. But designer Johanne Gagnon suggested two different styles, and even advocated a contemporary look for the living room, through the addition of sectionals and a new decor. Even the fireplace was brought up to date.

Picking up on the fact that her clients loved art and nature, designer Johanne Gagnon played with accessories and materials, such as the island legs and glass panels created by an artist. Since the owners already had a marble table, extending the choice of marble to the countertop and backsplash made sense. The type of wood and color used for the cupboards and island were approved by kitchen specialist Catherine Gagnon-Blouin, who collaborated on the project.  Of course choosing Cuisine Ideale for this major project was a very decision leading to complete success and Customer satisfaction.

Thanks to the quality of the materials, to the owners’ open-mindedness and good taste, and to a great team, the project was a complete success.
